Inside Out #6, 12”x12” Painting in Frame

Inside Out #6, is one of 12 paintings inspired by a wallpaper book from the 1970s, titled “Allure,” and a piece of firewood that I encountered while camping on Lake Michigan. Collectively inspired the series Inside Out. I chose to infuse the two by focusing on the markings that a small insect had carved into the wood, and the different patterns displayed in the book. The use of curves, bright colors, and patterns suggest the power of irresistible attraction through the cyclical process of nature.
